Perspective.

And Thats What It is.

Introduction

You have seen the topics listed above, I wanted to share my perspective on these before you move ahead. This book is not a collection of judgments or verdicts. It is simply a collection of my perspectives, thoughts shaped by the experiences I’ve lived, the conversations I’ve had, the questions I’ve asked and the contradictions I’ve witnessed in me and around me, over the years.

These articles are not prescriptions , nor are they written with the authority of someone claiming to know better. They are merely reflections, sometimes sharp and at other times soft and often incomplete but, as I would like to believe, always sincere.

Each topic in this book carries a slice of life as I have seen it, felt it or reflected upon it – whether it is politics or business, spirituality or social change, education or ethics or human resource. These subjects are presented here to help generate thought , to open a dialogue, initiate a conversation and to encourage readers to think again or perhaps, to think differently.

What I hope, more than anything else, is that readers should not mistake perspective for judgment. I have attempted to remain far from being judgmental in my thoughts and articles, but at certain places I may sound going nearer to it. A judgment, I think, closes a door whereas a perspective invites a window to open. A judgment assumes certainty but a perspective embraces creative curiosity.
We live in a world where disagreements often escalate into divisions, where alternate views are dismissed with suspicion, and where nuance is lost to black-and-white thinking. In such times, to pause and say, “This is how I see it, but I know others may see it differently,” is an act of humility and inner strength..

Yes, I have strong views on many of the topics I’ve written about. But I am also aware that these views were not born in isolation. They were shaped by my upbringing, my family, my surroundings, family values and cultures,my mentors, my mistakes and the times I have lived through. They are personal, but I share them publicly, because I believe we grow not by hoarding thoughts, but by offering them, like seeds, into the common soil of discussion.

I invite you to read these pieces not with agreement or disagreement as your first response, but with curiosity. If a piece resonates with your own experience, let it deepen your understanding. If it conflicts with your current beliefs, let it challenge you not necessarily to change, but to re-examine.

Allow yourself the opportunity to hold multiple truths, to sit with opposing thoughts and to be reminded that the world is too vast to be fully captured by any one (or anyone’s) perspective.

This book is simply a perspective. And as the title suggests “that’s what it is”. I hope it inspires you not just to read, but to reflect; not just to agree or disagree, but to see.

Good Luck with your reading
